Wayne Leon McClain, 90

Wayne Leon McClain, also known as "Mac" of rural Glasco, KS passed away on June 5, 2026 at the Belleville Health Care Center in Belleville, KS. He was 90 years old.

"Mac" was born June 2, 1936 in Falls City, NE to Sterling Wayne McClain and Esther Marie Merritt. He later moved to Kansas City, MO. He chose to follow his fathers' footsteps by making his career in the railroad. He worked for several railroads across the Midwest. He served in the Air Force Reserves prior to and during the Cuban Crisis.

As a young man he enjoyed participating in stock car races, camping, fishing, and hunting.

He was proud of overcoming his alcohol addiction with the help of AA. He had been sober since September of 1987.

"Mac" married Wanda Jean Corey on June 29, 1955. Together they raised 5 children; Jerry (Charlene) of Peculiar, MO, Karen (Bill Spear) of rural Concordia, KS, Mike of Delphos, KS, Carl (Lee) of West Chester, IA, and John also of West Chester, IA. He had several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

"Mac" was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one son.

Visitation will be Friday June 12, 2026 from 2:00pm - 7:00pm with the family receiving friends from 6:00pm - 7:00pm at Nutter Mortuary, Concordia, KS.

Funeral Services are Saturday June 13, 2026 at 2:00pm at Nutter Mortuary, Concordia, KS with Pastor Earl Hale officiating.

The Burial will follow at the Morrison Cemetery, Rural Concordia, KS.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the 4J Cowboy Church, Concordia, KS.
