Theresa Ann Gengler peacefully passed away Saturday, June 27th, 2026, at the age of 62. She was born on July 26th, 1963, at Mitchell Co. Hospital in Beloit, KS to Noel Ewdwin Gengler and Josephine Francis (Peters) Gengler, the 3rd of 5 children.
Theresa attended St. John's grade school in Beloit from 1st through 8th grade. She then attended Beloit Jr./Sr. High School where she graduated in 1981. She was united in marriage to Delbert Gitchel, on August 26th, 1984. To this union, the couple were blessed with two daughters: Michelle and Mikayla. She was also blessed to have the love of an honorary third daughter, Ivy, whom always referred to her as "Mama T". Delbert and Theresa later divorced.
Theresa always loved music, cooking, and animals. She had an incredibly friendly and outgoing personality.
Preceding her in death were both of her parents: Josephine and Noel Gengler, brother Brian Gengler, a son-in-law Chad Gannon, and many cousins and friends.
Theresa is survived by her former husband: Delbert D. Gitchel, of Wilcox, NE, three siblings: Cynthia L. Gengler of Wilcox, NE, Pamela J. DeWoody (Randy) of Kansas City, MO, and Thomas Gengler of Holdrege, NE, her daughters Michelle Gannon (Joey Meyers) of Minden, NE, and Mikayla Knoell (Elliot) of Lincoln, NE, and her five precious grandchildren: Tyler Gannon, and Connor, Archer, Paxton, and Lydia Meyers.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m., Thursday, July 2 with a Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at the church, Friday, July 3 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to their local AA Chapters in care of Schoen Funeral Home And Monuments, 302 N. Hersey Ave. Beloit, KS 67420.
