Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation announces 2011 Melvin File Memorial Scholarship

Beloit, KS, July 18 - The Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2011 Melvin File Memorial Scholarships are:

Connor Shoemaker

The 2011 graduates were each presented a $500.00 award to pursue a degree in any medical field of study.

"Each year the applicants for our Melvin File Memorial scholarship are so deserving," said Susan Concannon, Foundation Executive Director. "We are honored to assist these students and look forward to hearing of their successes in the medical field."

This scholarship was established through the Foundation, by a gift to Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems from the Melvin File Estate. It was Mr. File's expressed desire to benefit the entire community; therefore, choosing the hospital as the recipient of his generosity. In honor of his thoughtfulness, a portion of his gift will be used to fund this annual award.

The Foundation was established in 2008 to promote and support continued excellence in health care in north central Kansas. The Foundation seeks to encourage study in health related fields by providing scholarships to students in the region
