Scott Eugene Karsting, 67

Scott Eugene Karsting came into this world on July 11, 1952 in Hastings, Neb., the only son of Eugene (Gene) and Phyllis Karsting. He went to heaven on April 22, 2020 after a long battle with cancer at the age of 67 in Smyrna, Tenn.
The first year he lived with his mom and grandpa and grandma Karsting while waiting to meet his dad who was serving in the Korean war. He spent the next few years traveling with his parents while dad worked with the REA running the first electrical lines to rural farmers in South Dakota and Nebraska. Scott and his new sister Deb moved to Great Bend with his parents in 1956. When he was 13, he moved to Smith Center, Kan., where he met many friends and graduated high school in 1970. He went on an adventure and joined the US Air Force and received the rank of sergeant. He was very proud to have served his country.
His sister always laughed because her tough big brother loved to grow flowers and was always sending her pictures of them. His great love was motorcycles. He worked at Big Dog for many years with his best friend John Norton. He joined a Christian motorcycle club, the cross Soldiers, and rode many events and enjoyed riding with many of his friends. He loved his two dogs Charlie and Chyna. He was always bringing home strays when he was a kid. He loved fishing and collected ancient shark teeth. He was much loved. His parents went to heaven before him in 2014 and 2016.
He leaves behind his lifelong partner Cathy of LaVergne, Tenn. A daughter Nicole (Mike) Parks of Neenah, Wis; sister Deb (Gary) Wagenblast of Smith Center, Kan.; nieces Stephanie (Rich) Schintler and Mindi (Todd) Searls; great niece Faith Schintler; great nephew Wyatt Searls; a host of family and friends.
Final Resting Place will be in Myer Pleasant View Cemetery, 160 RD and J RD, Athol, Kan.
Memorial Contributions may be given to Hospice Services of Smith County or any Veteran's Organization in care of Simmons-Rentschler Mortuary, 116 W First, Smith Center, Kansas 66967.
