Carmen C. Lamont, 91

Carmen C. Lamont, 91, passed away Friday, May 8, 2020 at SunPorch of Smith County, Smith Center, Kan.
She was born January 25, 1929 in Kirwin, Kan., the daughter of Louis Everett and Mildred Irene (Rutherford) Waters. On May 12, 1946 she married Cecil L. Lamont in Smith Center, Kan. To this union they were blessed with five children, Dennis, JoAnn, Steve, Connie and Mary.
Carmen is survived by two sons, Dennis Lamont and wife Elaine of Phillipsburg, Steve Lamont and wife Deb of Kensington; three daughters, JoAnn Caldwell of Ellinwood, Connie Pennington and husband Robert of Downs, Mary Smith of Lyons; a brother, Phillip Waters and wife Rosella; a sister, Amy Schwartz and ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her husband Cecil, her parents, a son-in-law, Curtis Caldwell and a granddaughter, Raquel Jean Pennington.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2020 in the Cedar Cemetery, Cedar, Kan., with Pastor Dennis Lambert officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, 113 S. Madison St., Smith Center, KS 66967.
Memorials may be given to Humane Society of the High Plains, 205 E. US Highway 40, Hays, KS 67601 and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
