Bernard F. Jamison, 90

Bernard F. Jamison was born on August 19, 1929 to Bernard Boyd (B.B.) and Mary Elsie Jamison in Toronto, Kan. He died at home, surrounded by his family on May 13, 2020 at 90 years old.
Bernard grew up in Madison, Kan., with his mother, father and brother Gary. He graduated from Madison High School and continued his education at Rockhurst College in Kansas City. Bernard then graduated from the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Pharmacy. Not long after graduation he served in a medical battalion during the Korean War.
After the war he returned to Kansas City and worked as a Pharmacist at Katz Drugstore. It was there in Kansas City he met and married Dian Elaine Clark on September 20, 1958. They had two children, both born in Kansas City, Mo. In 1967 the family moved to Beloit. Bernard owned and operated Bunch Drug Company for almost 25 years.
Bernard was a devoted husband, father and always shared a wonderful sense of humor with his family. Throughout his life he enjoyed quail and pheasant hunting, especially with his father, brother and nephews. He was very devoted to his faith and as a member of St John the Baptist Catholic Church he served as a sacristan, assisted with mass at Hilltop Lodge, where he often led the rosary. Family and friends knew him to be a sweet, good natured man, loving and generous with a good sense of humor and always ready to share a laugh. It also has to be mentioned that he had an unwavering devotion to his wife, Dian throughout their marriage of 54 years and his continuing love and support of her during her prolonged stay at Hilltop Lodge.
Left to celebrate his life and inspired to emulate his many fine qualities are his children; son Clark Jamison and wife Malika of Lawrence, Kan., and daughter Michelle Orlando and husband Rob of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren Matthew and Emma Orlando; five step grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.
Our family wants to express our deepest gratitude to Dr. Kimple, Dr. Beck, all the Beloit Clinic staff that cared for him and made him feel special as well as the staff at Hilltop Lodge and Assisted Living. We also owe much gratitude to Solomon Valley Hospice for all their care and support.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 18 at St. John's Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 2-7 PM Sunday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Due to Covid-19 gathering restrictions, we will be limited to no more than 10 visitors at any time. Memorials may be given to the Church or Solomon Valley Hospice.
