Helen R. Driggs, 101

Helen Rose Gronewoller Franks Driggs was born on January 1, 1919 in Butler, Missouri, the daughter of Frank and Rose Raising Gronewoller. She died Monday, June 29, 2020 at the Hilltop Lodge in Beloit, Kansas, at the age of 101 years. Helen was the last living of the twelve Gronewoller children.
Helen married Wesley Franks in 1939 and they lived in Glasco, Kansas, and raised their three children there. Helen worked in the school cafeteria in Glasco while her children were in school. After Wesley died in 1973, she took training to become a certified medical assistant and worked at the Nicol Rest Home in Glasco. In 1985, she married Bob Teasley of Glasco, and moved with him to Sun City West, Arizona, where she worked part time at the Del Web Hospital. She returned to Beloit in 1991. In 1995, she married Don Driggs of Downs, and lived there until they moved to the Porter House in Beloit in 2006. Since Spring of 2010, Helen has lived at Hilltop Lodge. Helen enjoyed bridge, golf, sewing, crocheting, and loved to go dancing. She loved her family and friends, and her good nature and sense of humor made her a joy to be with.
Helen was preceded in death by husband Wesley Franks; sons Daniel Franks of California, Missouri, Darrell Franks of Louisville, Kentucky; daughter Sharon Kay Franks of Manhattan, Kansas; and husband Donald Driggs of Downs. She is survived by five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and step children, Douglas Driggs, Bill Driggs, and Judy Fawcett.
Graveside services will be at 1 PM Friday, July 3, at the Glasco Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be given to the Perdue House or Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation.
