William "Bill" T. Snapp, 97

William "Bill" Thomas Snapp was born November 13, 1922 in Kansas City, Mo., and passed away March 23, 2020 at the Belleville Health Care Center at the age of 97 years, 4 months and 10 days.
At the age of 11 days he was adopted by Glenn B. and Edna Gettle Snapp of Belleville, Kan. Bill grew up on the farm south of Belleville and attended No. 1 school, Wayne and Belleville High Schools.
He was married to a Wilma Jean Proft on October 22, 1948 and to this union was born Billy, Linda, Tom and Jim. The couple made their home in Belleville. Bill worked on the farm with his dad for several years and after moving to Belleville he worked for Hall Mill and Elevator, Ausherman Mfg. and the City of Belleville. In his spare time he did tree and yard work for many in the Belleville area.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Belleville. Bill enjoyed hunting and trapping with his sons and grandsons and also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren attending many of their school and scouting activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wilma; son, Jim; brother, Dan; and sister, Mary.
He is survived by his children, Billy Snapp of Salina, Kan., Linda (Dan) Wiruth of Newton, Kan., and Tom (Dianna) Snapp of Belleville, Kan.; six grandchildren, Carmen (Brandon) Fiedler, Jon (Karen) Snapp, Jeremy (Gretta) Snapp, Angela Snapp, B.J. (Katie) Snapp and Christy (Dave) Robinett; 11 great grandchildren, Shannon, Jeremy, Amy, Katie, Kyle, Frankie, Allison, Farmer, Riley, Braxton, and Brady; three great great grandchildren, Emilie, Colby and Lily; other relatives and friends.
Cremation was selected and Memorial Services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church, Belleville, Kan., with Rev. Sang Hak Lee, officiating. Inurnment will follow the services at the Belleville Cemetery, Belleville, KS.
The family will greet friends at a reception at the Church following the committal service.
