Clinton J. Burger was born at Plainville, Kan., November 19, 1929. He left this world to meet with his heavenly father on November 9, 2020.
Clinton was the son of Clinton and Freeda (Gilbert) Burger. As a young child, the family moved from Plainville to Beloit, Kan., and Clinton graduated from Beloit High School in 1947.
He was united in marriage to Dorothy Carter on September 18, 1949 in Beloit, Kan. They resided there until moving to Norway, Kan., and then in 1961 relocated their family to Belleville, Kan. To this union, four children were born: William, Linda, Alice and Rebecca.
Clinton was a member of the Kansas Army National Guard, serving for 10 years. He worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation for 40 years, retiring as the Superintendent over the counties of Jewell, Cloud, Mitchell and Republic. He was a long time member of the Central Christian Church in Belleville, having served as a member of the board, as a Deacon, and as a member of the building and grounds committee.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of the home; his daughters, Linda Douglas Holl, Alice (Danny) Carlow, and Rebecca (Bob) Brown; his beloved grandchildren, David (Ashley) Douglas, Reese and Max; Daniel (Monica) Douglas, Tyson and Brady; Nicole (Nick) Kraus, Trenton and Charles; Kendra (Shannon) Short, Carter and Grayson; Austin (Casey) Brown; Joshua Brown; CL Burger, Jayme, Colby and Zach; and Martin Burger.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clinton and Freeda; his brother Arthur Burger and his sister Irene Sewell; his son William Burger and wife Kay; and son-in-laws Charles Douglas and Leon Holl.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, November 20, 2020, at Central Christian Church, conducted by Pastor Jacob Rice.
Private Family Interment will be in Belleville Cemetery, Belleville, Kan.
Memorials may be given to St Jude Children's Research Hospitals or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Friends may call on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 1 PM to 8 PM at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Kan. The casket will remain closed.
