After a long battle with cancer, Arnold passed away November 15, 2020 at the age of 83 with his family by his side.
Arnold Leroy Fox was born on January 28, 1937 to Francis and Mabel Fox at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kan.
Growing up, Arnold attended Browns Creek School, Center School, and Rose Valley, and later graduated from Glen Elder High School in 1957. While attending school, Arnold was active in 4-H. One of Arnold's achievements in 4-H was a wheat project, and he was awarded a championship ribbon at the county fair. Arnold entered his wheat project at the state fair, and received a grand champion award and a 3-day trip to Kansas City.
He lived on a farm north of Glen Elder, where he enjoyed helping his dad with the farm. He always looked forward to helping with wheat harvest, even when his health was failing. He loved helping Dewayne McClintock, Chris Bell, and Erick Kadel.
Arnold enlisted into the US Army in January, 1957. He was honorably discharged in January, 1959.
Arnold was united in marriage with Doris McMann on June 10, 1961 in Beloit, Kan. They were blessed with three children, Karrie, Danny, and Randy.
He was employed for 26 years at the Beloit Motor Company, where he worked as an auto body mechanic. He was also employed at Boettcher Supply as a farm maintenance mechanic.
Arnold took pride in his garden and lawn. He enjoyed sharing his garden produce with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Doris of the home; his children, Karrie (Don) of Salina, Danny (Beth) of Lawrence, and Randy (Karen) of Port Orchard, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his sister, Marilyn of Salina; and his kitty, Susie.
Arnold will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Saturday, November 21, at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-7 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Solomon Valley Hospice or American Cancer Society. The casket will be closed on the day of the service. Masks will be required upon entry into the funeral home - if you do not have one, we have some available.
