James L. Burchfiel, 79

James L. Burchfiel, age 79, of Concordia, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Mt. Joseph Senior Village, Concordia. He was born on August 6, 1941 in Concordia, Kan., to John and Viola (Jennings) Burchfiel, Sr.
James attended Concordia Catholic Schools while growing up.
He served in the U.S. Army National Guard.
He married Dixie Waite. To this marriage three children were born: Mark, Sharon, and Tina. They later divorced.
James worked for Boogaarts and then Scrivner Food Distribution Center in Concordia until they closed.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by son, Mark Burchfiel (Pam), Minot, N.D.; two daughters, Tina Engle (Jeff), Kansas City, Sharon Klima (Ryan), Concordia, Kan.; 13 grandkids Logan, Kendra, Landon, Kirsten, Kayla, Hayden, Ryah, Brant, Breawna, Brooklyn, Bobby, Garrett and Kody; and three great-grandkids Sophea, Ivie and Remy; two brothers, Dennis Burchfiel, Concordia, Kan., and Bob Burchfiel, Wichita, Kan.; sister, Mary Lou Jensen, Ft. Collins, Colo.; eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Viola; a brother, Daniel H., and John Roland, Burchfiel, Jr.
Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will take place at a later time.
