Wayne W. Hanson, 89

Wayne W. Hanson, age 89, died on November 17, 2020 at Mt. Joseph Nursing Center, Concordia, Kan. He was born on a farm south of Formoso, Kan., on January 11, 1931 to Harry C. and Ruth F. (Dunstan) Hanson. Wayne graduated from Mankato High School.
Wayne worked at several jobs including managing Downs Lumber Company in Downs, Kan., paint sales in Colorado Springs, his own battery recycling business and retired as Maintenance Supervisor for the City of Salina.
He always enjoyed being involved in farming even after he began to rent out his land. Wayne was particularly proud of keeping his pastures free of bindweed and cedar trees and his fences in perfect condition. Through the years Wayne enjoyed many different things: belonging to Lions Club, camping in the mountains, ushering at church, square dancing and being on his farm.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Harry C. and Ruth F. (Dunstan) Hanson. He is survived by his wife Anna of Wichita, Kan.; daughter of Wayne and Charlotte (Lichty) Hansen, Arlene (Steve) of Jamestown, Kan.; grandson, Dalton (Alyssa) Ediger of Wichita, Kan; brother Lloyd (Mary) Hanson of Rossville, Kan.; three nieces, a nephew, other relatives and friends.
Inurnment will be a private service at Mount Hope Cemetery, Mankato, Kan. No formal memorial service will be held due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Meals on Wheels in care of Chaput-Bouy Funeral Home in Concordia, Kan.
