Kathleen K. Rizek, 69

Kathleen K. "Kathy" Rizek, 69 of Belleville, passed away from pneumonia Monday, March 8, 2021 at Bryan West Medical Center, Lincoln, Neb. She was the second child of Robert and Leone (Zimmerman) Mansfield born September 11, 1951, in Kearney, Neb. She grew up in Kearney, graduating from Kearney High School in 1969, and went on to receive her Bachelors of Arts degree in Education from Kearney State College. After college, she worked as a French and Spanish teacher in Gibbon, Neb., for several years, managed several A&W's in the area, cooked at Foote's Café in Chester, Neb., then was the Food Service Director for Belleville Public Schools for 22 years. She loved making people their favorite food when they visited and often made birthday cakes for her step-granddaughters. Kathy loved to travel and went to Europe three times in her life.
Kathy was married to Roger Rizek on January 2, 1987, and lived in Belleville where she helped raise three stepchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Leone (Zimmerman) Mansfield. She is survived by her husband Roger of the home; stepdaughter Kristy Rizek (Andy Phillips), Topeka; stepsons Kevin Rizek, Munden, Philip Rizek, Cuba; sister Vicki Mansfield, Kearney; brother Curt Mansfield, Kearney; two step-granddaughters, Kaylin and Caley Phillips, Topeka; one uncle and seven cousins.
Cremation was chosen.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, Kan., with Memorial Gathering and Visitation with the family from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM following the service.
Private Family Inurnment will be at St. Katherine's Catholic Cemetery, rural Belleville, Kan.
