Forrest Hiserote was born in Beloit, Kansas, on November 14, 1950 to Elsie (Srna) and Virgil Hiserote. He grew up on a farm east of Beloit with his seven siblings and attended Beloit High School until the 10th grade.
He met his wife, Jeanne Houghton, and married her on June 30, 1973. They were blessed with three children, Jennifer, Shellie and Jamie.
Forrest worked on Van Pelt's farm before he started working on the trash truck with his brother, Frank, where he worked until his retirement in 2020. Frank and Forrest co-owned Hiserote Trash Service together and added Forrest's son, Jamie, to the business in June 2006.
Forrest loved fishing and him and Jeanne went on numerous fishing and camping trips with their children. He also enjoyed going canoeing and riding around in the country. They knew all the back roads. Forrest was an outdoorsy guy and one of his favorite hobbies was planting trees and later when he moved out to his childhood farm, he loved watching his cows, deer, birds and other wildlife. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and family and was so proud of all of them!
Forrest was preceded in death by his siblings, Frank Hiserote, Doris Schramek and Merle Hiserote and his parents. He is survived by his children, Jamie (Kara) Hiserote of Beloit, Shellie (Troy) Colby of Lawrence and Jennifer Hiserote of Beloit and his sisters, Mary Gomel of Salina, Millie (Larry) Ross of Aurora, Colorado, Dee (Chuck) Vogan of Junction City and Francie (Pat) Harmon of Topeka and all of his 12 grandchildren and his only great-grandchild, Lakyn Hiserote of Hays.
