Betty L. Everitt, 93

Betty L. Everitt passed from this life on January 12, 2022, at the age of 93 in Salina, Kansas. Betty was born in Webber, Kansas, on December 18, 1928 to Orville and Lena Switzer. She was the seventh of seven children in her family. She moved to Concordia, Kansas, with her parents in the 1940's.
In Concordia, as a young woman she worked at a local mercantile. She and her parents attended the Methodist Church, where she met Charles Everitt at a church function. After a courtship, they married in September of 1948, setting up housekeeping in Concordia. Charles and Betty had three children: David, Sarah, and Paula.
Betty was a homemaker and participated in local women's educational groups through the church and local extension service. She helped Charles at the hardware store he owned and operated, managing the office and customer billing operations. After the store closed, Betty and Charles worked together as product demonstrators in local grocery stores. Later, Betty worked for the Concordia school district in the lunchroom.
Betty enjoyed staying connected throughout her life. She kept up to date on the latest news and happenings of her family, including siblings, nieces, and nephews, via the family's "Round Robin" newsletter. She traveled to numerous family reunions for in-person visits with her large extended family. And she especially enjoyed having friends and family stop by for a chat. In 2016 she relocated to the Brookdale Senior Living in Salina, Kansas, to be closer to Sarah.
Betty is survived by son David (Ellie) and daughter Sarah (Wayne Watts.) She was preceded in death by her husband Charles and daughter Paula. Betty lived a full life, was a friend to all that met her, and was an especially good hugger. A private family burial will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas.
