After Brown Mackie she worked for a short time at Riley Chev, and then at the Cawker City Mutual Telephone Company. She finally started working at the Guaranty State Bank in Beloit, Kansas, where she worked for 41 years until she retired. She loved working at the bank and told stories about her career and co-workers often. Dorothy had many hobbies over the years.
