Suzanne Million (aka Alene Elizabeth), age 92, Belleville, went home to be with her Lord and other family members on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.
Suzanne was born January 8, 1931 in Kansas City, Missouri and grew up in Pittsburg, Kansas. She graduated from Pittsburg High School and attended Pittsburg State University where she majored in Art. She lived in Coffeyville, Kansas, with her husband, Charles, for a time before they relocated to Phillipsburg, Kansas. She was a business owner for many years in Phillipsburg, where she owned and operated Suzy's Seller, a successful woman's clothing store. In 1985, Charles heard the calling from our Lord and Savior and they moved to Fort Worth, Texas. Suzanne supported her husband as he completed his Masters of Divinity; and their mission in life became to serve God. Her kindness, strong faith, and ability to create beauty were a perfect fit for this new life that spanned many years in several churches. She also loved to travel and enjoyed memorable trips.
Suzanne and Charles moved to Belleville, Kansas, in 2004. After losing her husband Suzanne remained very active in the Church, creating beautiful banners, assisting with bible school, and participating in many clubs such as Shakespeare Club, Red Hats, Supper Club, WELCA (American Lutheran) and was a longtime sorority member of Beta Sigma Phi. As a child she belonged to the Rainbow Girls.
Suzanne left a legacy of love, faith, generosity, kindness, and many other attributes which positively impacted her family, as well as many, many others.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Reverend Charles Million; her daughter, Deborah Newby-Richardson; son-in-law, William Newby; her parents, Herschel A. and Lucille Gee and Michael and Ruby Tellaro; and sister, Alene Sanders.
Suzanne is survived by many who loved her: daughters, Kathy Miller and her husband Blaine, Eileen Benson, all of Belleville; grandchildren, Joseph Miller, Logan Miller and wife Kate, Leah McKee and husband Jim, Ethan Benson and wife Ali, April Dickinson and husband Daniel; nine great-grandchildren, Tony, Declan, Holden, Asher, Julian, Rya, Abigail, Isaac, Noah; sons of the heart, George Richardson, Larry Benson, and Jerry Baker.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the American Lutheran Church, Belleville, Kansas, with PMA Al Urich officiating.
Interment will follow at the Belleville Cemetery, Belleville, Kansas.
Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until service time on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the American Lutheran Church.
Memorials are suggested to the American Lutheran Church.
