James Allen Davidson, Sr., son of Harold R. Davidson and Evelyn Marcella (Shulda) Davidson, was born on August 18, 1943, in Concordia, Kansas, and left this earth on February 1, 2024, at the age of 80, at the Belleville Health Care Center.
He attended Cuba grade schools and graduated from high school in New York. He was united in marriage to Alice M. Wilber on July 19, 1963, in Belleville, Kansas. This union was blessed with two children, Julie A. and James A., Jr.
James Sr., had a variety of jobs: the Blair Theater, Food Mart, Johnson Monument, Rock Island Railroad, the Cuba Elevator, ASCS/SCS office, and other odd jobs.
Jim enjoyed coon hunting in his younger days. He liked fishing, and motorcycle riding with his friends that belonged to the ROMEO club (Retired Old Motorcyclists Eating Out). He and Alice enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together on cold winter days. He also had a hidden talent of playing the guitar and banjo. Jim was an avid golfer; he spent many warm days at the Belleville Country Club practicing golf, and he competed in various tournaments.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Alice; and his brother, John. He is survived by his children, Julie Bradshaw of McPherson, Kansas, and James Davidson, Jr., of Topeka, Kansas; one sister, Virginia Koesters of Georgia; three granddaughters, Ashley, Harliegh, and Abigail; six great-grandsons; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Jim's life will be Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Cuba, Kansas. A private family burial will occur at a later date at the Belleville City Cemetery.
