William "Bill" Hare died Saturday, August 31, 2024 at North Central Kansas Medical Center Concordia, Kansas, the age of 98.
Bill was born April, 28, 1926 to Roscoe and Mabel Hare in Glasco Kansas. He grew up in Glasco. He had three sisters, Alberta, Gertrude and Troy, and one brother, Bobby Lee.
He married Ramona Lefort in November 7, 1949. They had two children, Billy and Robert Joseph. Bill enjoyed a long career with Natural Gas Pipeline Company. Mr. Hare's employment with Natural Gas led to the family's relocation from Kansas to Illinois to Texas. Bill's pastimes included wood craftsman and fishing. He built furniture to share with friends and family. Fishing was another passion. "Any day I can get away to do some fishing is a good day," was a common conversation detail.
Survivors include son, Bill Hare, and numerous nephews. There are many friends from Wharton, Texas, home for 38 years. Especially appreciate next door neighbors, Allen and Michael Rachunek.
He was preceded by his parents; wife, Ramona; son, Robert Hare; and siblings, Eleanor Troy McNaught, Alberta Lee Paramore, Gertrude Winona DuBois; and an infant brother, Bobby Lee.
The family selected cremation and memorial services will be at 10:30 am Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas.
Friends may sign the register book from 1 pm to 5 pm Wednesday, September 4, 2024.
Burial will follow the services at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Glasco, Kansas.
The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
