Diane Janice Nelson, the daughter of Murl and Maxine (Doyle) Nelson, was born on May 14, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois. She passed away on September 3, 2024 at the Keystone Ridge Nursing Home in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 64 years, 3 months, 20 days.
Diane attended grade school at Burr Oak, Kansas, and middle and high school in Superior, Nebraska. She went on an attended Hastings College taking art for several years and then beauty school in Salina, Kansas. As a child she and her family were members of the Baptist Church in Mankato, Kansas, and the Olive Hill Church, rural Superior, and also belonged to the 4-H Club. Diane loved helping others in her community by fixing food when ill, mowing their lawns, helping at Living Faith Fellowship where she currently attended using her artistic abilities to make posters, helping with their floats, decorating bulletin boards, helping with their Easter Extravaganza and fall Festival and vacation Bible School. She loved the Lord. As a child she had a love for horses, dogs, fishing, hunting and anything just to be outside. She was a friend and compassionate to anyone she met. She loved her church, was a great friend and sister and was there to always help those in need. Diane fought the good fight and battled her cancer many times. She will be missed dearly.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Murl and Maxine.
She is survived by her siblings, Patricia Jones of Omaha and Celeste Nelson of Superior; one niece, Taylor Jones of Omaha, and nephews, Kim and Chris Edwards of Omaha, Nebraska, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services are tentatively scheduled for Monday September 16, 2024 at 10:30 am at the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior. Jon Albrecht will officiate.
Inurnment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, Nebraska.
Memorials may go to the St. Jude's Hospital.
