Our beloved Mother and Grandmother, Estelle Marie Schuster, 92 of Beloit, Kansas, went home to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
Estelle, the daughter of Ted and Pauline Hake, was born on March 6, 1932 in Tipton, Kansas. She was the second oldest of ten children. Estelle was a 1950 graduate of St. Boniface High School in Tipton. She then attended St. Francis school of Nursing in Wichita, Kansas, where she graduated in May of 1953.
Estelle was united in marriage to Leroy Francis Schuster of Denver, Colorado, on December 30, 1953. This union was blessed with six children. Estelle and Lee spent their first two years of marriage in Chicago, Illinois, where Lee attended DeVry and Greer Technical colleges. They returned to Tipton, Kansas, for ten years and then moved to Beloit, Kansas, where the couple owned The Beloit Appliance Center for 30 years.
Estelle will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother. She loved the many years she spent caring for and entertaining her children and grandchildren. Holidays and family reunions were the best due to Estelle's love and caring preparation and presence. Estelle's life was full of family activities and friendships. She took great pride in giving her family a loving home. She also used her talents while doing volunteer work at St. John's Catholic Church and the Ladies Guild.
She is preceded in death by her Loving Husband, Leroy Schuster; her parents, Ted and Pauline Hake; brothers, Edgar Hake and Kenny Hake; sister, Mary Ellen Bongiovanni; sister-in-law, Marcella Hake; brothers-in-law, Bud Bongiovanni, Ed Koenigsman, Bud Palen and Larry Gillett.
Survivors include her children, Roger and Jennifer Schuster, Jim and Anna Schuster, Bob and Dixie Schuster, John and Joan Schuster, Wade and Linda (Schuster) McCown, Matt and Deanna (Schuster) Fulghum; 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Other surviving family members are sisters, Elizabeth Gillett (Tudy) and Diane Palen; brother, Msgr. James Hake; brother and sister-in-law, Ron Hake and Laura Hake; sister and brother-in-law, Joan (Hake) Palen and Nelson Palen; sister and brother-in-law, Darlene (Hake) Streit and Don Streit; sisters-in-law, Alice Hake, Anita Hake, Janine Schuster; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Friday, February 28, at St. John's Catholic Church in Beloit followed by burial in St. John's Cemetery. A parish rosary service will be at 10:30 AM at the church, preceding the funeral service. Lunch is scheduled for those that wish to attend at 1 PM at the New Building on the Beloit Fairgrounds (1320 N. Walnut).
Memorials may be given to the St. John's Church or St. John's School.
