Judy Ann Pohlman, beloved mother and grandmother, died March 6, 2025 at the Hilltop Lodge with her husband Gary by her side.
Judy was born on December 27, 1945 in Hays, Kansas. She was adopted by her loving parents, Gordon and Clarabel Lundeen of Clifton, Kansas. She spent her young life there in Clifton with her older brother, Mike, attending church and spending time with many relatives and friends.
As fate would have it, she met the love of her life, Gary, through her brother, who was one of his closest friends. What began as a friendship blossomed into more than 58 years of marriage.
Together they raised their four children in Beloit, Kansas. Judy worked for many years at the Mitchell County Hospital as a nursing assistant, and later at Hilltop Lodge.
Judy had a deep and abiding faith that guided her throughout her life. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Beloit, and later at the Presbyterian Church. This is where she found great joy in worship, fellowship and service.
She also spent many hours writing thousands of cards with words of encouragement for everyone she knew. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and baking all sorts of desserts for everyone, including her specialty, Swedish rye bread. She also loved spending time with her friends, speaking the word of God and drinking coffee every day.
Judy is now joyfully reunited in Heaven with her beloved parents, Gordon and Clarabel, and her dear son-in-law, Jed Black.
She is survived by her faithful and devoted husband, Gary Pohlman of Beloit; brother, Mike (Joyce) Lundeen of Fort Scott, Kansas; her children, Aaron (Cathy) Pohlman of Hutchinson, Corey (Sam) Pohlman of Wichita, Jolinda Black of Beloit, and Kris (Melissa) Pohlman of Point, Texas; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Though we grieve her passing, we take comfort knowing she is at peace in the arms of her Savior, where she longed to be.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Monday, March 10, at the Beloit Methodist Church.
A graveside service will take place at 2 PM Monday at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Vining, Kansas.
Visitation will be from 2 PM to 7 PM, with family present from 5 PM to 7 PM Sunday, March 9, at the Roberts Family Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Mitchell County Food Pantry or Heart Choices.
Roberts Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
