Leanda Sue Dronberger Orsborn was born January 25, 1951 to Lee Keith Dronberger and Yolanda Kay (Ladner) Dronberger Pittenger in Topeka, Kansas. She was the oldest of three children. She passed away on May 2, 2025 at Meadowlark Hills - Stolzer House in Manhattan at the age of 74 after her journey with Parkinson's.
Leanda started her early days in Onaga, Kansas, until moving to Concordia in 1955 when her father joined the Kansas Highway Patrol. In 1960 the family moved to Beloit where Leanda attended school graduating BHS with the Class of 1969.
Leanda was always a "Big City" girl and during her lifetime. She lived and worked in the mortgage and lending industry in Omaha, Nebraska; Kansas City, Kansas; Houston, Texas; and Dallas, Texas. Upon retirement she moved to Manhattan, Kansas, to be close to family.
During Leanda's life faith, family and friends, and fun were her priorities. She was actively involved with her church family in Coppell serving on the Sunday worship committee, helping with the annual Pumpkin Patch, food and clothing drives, and going on mission trips to Mexico. She loved volunteering her time to help others whether in a food kitchen or flood relief she was there. Leanda loved reading, gardening, travel, theater (Broadway, off Broadway, McCain, or local), good BBQ and crayfish boil. While living in Texas she formed many lifelong friends who became her extended family.
Leanda was the best sister (favorite sister to Keith), awesome and fun aunt, and loving and devoted friend and mentor. She had a wicked sense of humor sometimes mixed with a bit of sarcasm (especially in the last few years). She was a warrior and fought many hardships throughout her life with a smile and perseverance. Her faith, friends and family were her support and her rock during these times.
Upon her retirement she found a new family - her Meadowlark Parkinson's family who supported her journey through laughter, tears, exercise, boxing and so many wonderful activities.
Leanda was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Kay Dronberger; her brother, Keith Dronberger; her paternal grandparents, Russell and Lydia Dronberger; her maternal grandparents, Ernest and Cora Ladner; and many aunts and uncles.
Survivors include her sister, Paula (Doug) Rominger of Manhattan, Kansas; sister-in-law, Deb Dronberger of Lima, Ohio; nephews, Aaron (Lindsay) Dronberger, Dylan (Ashley) Dronberger and family, and Alex Rominger; eight great nieces and nephews; lifelong friends, Marilyn Buchheister and Virginia Vetter; and her Texas girls, Judy, Ann, June and Caroline; and a wonderful loving group of caregivers and friends at Meadowlark.
