Alice Marie LaCoe, 79, of Beloit, Kansas, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025.
Alice was born on July 5, 1945, in Beloit, Kansas, to Orville and Juanita (Hansen) Thompson. She graduated from Beloit High School in 1963, where she built lasting friendships and cherished memories that would stay with her throughout her life.
On November 12, 1967, Alice married the love of her life, Evert LaCoe Jr. of Jewell, Kansas. Together, they shared nearly 58 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to one another.
In her youth, Alice had a passion for horses and rodeoing, which reflected her adventurous spirit and love of the outdoors. Throughout her working years, she dedicated herself to various roles including employment at Beloit Livestock Auction and Holloway Wholesale as a bookkeeper. From 1980 to 1990, she worked alongside her husband Evert, helping him run their radiator shop, demonstrating the partnership that defined their marriage.
Alice and Evert shared many beloved traditions, including attending the state fair every year from 1967 to 2019 - a cherished annual ritual that spanned over five decades. They also enjoyed playing cards and visiting with friends, treasuring the simple pleasures of good company and fellowship. Alice was a devoted partner who supported Evert in his many organizational involvements, including the Masons and Shriners, demonstrating her commitment to community service and fellowship.
Alice is survived by her beloved husband, Evert LaCoe Jr. of Beloit, Kansas; two sons, Aaron LaCoe (Chandra LaCoe) and Erik LaCoe (Marissa LaCoe), both of Beloit, Kansas; and four cherished grandchildren: Anthony, Jayden, Tayson and Kiree.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Juanita Thompson.
Alice will be remembered for her warm heart, gentle spirit, strong work ethic, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, especially her beloved family.
Funeral services will be at 1 PM Thursday, May 29, at the Roberts Family Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 PM to 7 PM Wednesday, May 28, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Funeral Expense Fund.
