8 Man Division II West Squad 2025

Beloit to host 40th Annual 8 Man All Star Games Saturday, June 7. The Division II West All Star Game will be played at Trojan Field in Beloit at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 7.

#34 - Dawson Ruff, Hodgeman County, has been selected for the Division II West Team. He is 6' tall and weighs 200 pounds, He was a Linebacker and Guard. Matt Housman was his high school coach. His parents Brad and Cheri Ruff. He plans to attend Fort Hays State College for an Exercise Science Degree.
Individual accomplishments include: 1st Team All League Offense, Sports in Kansas Honorable Mention. Activities outside of school include: Body Building and Power Lifting.
Academic Honors: A/B Honor Roll.

#20 - William Cook, Bucklin, has been selected for the Division II West All Star Game. He is a 2025 graduate of Bucklin High School. He is 6' tall, weighs 175 pounds. His positions are Linebacker and Tight End. Coach is Trever Powell. Parents are Eli and Beth Cook and Tami and Stacy Cook. His future plans are to attend Fort Hays State University. Individual achievements include: All League Offense 2 times, All League Defense 3 times, All DIstrict Offense 2 times, All District Defense 2 times, All State Defense & Top 8 Seniors Honorable Mention.
In other sports he was selected All State Basketball Honorable Mention, State Track Qualifier. Academic and Activity Honors include National Honor Society, Principal's Honor Roll.

#12 - Connor Fowler, Fairfield. He is a 2025 graduate of Fairfield High School. He is 5'11" tall and weighs 170 pounds. His position in high school was quarterback and safety. His high school coach was Kyle Finder. Parents are Brent and Kristen Fowler.
Future plans are to attend Pratt Community College for Electrical Power Technology Lineman program.
Individual awards include: All-District 1st Team Defensive Back 2024, All District Honorable Mention Quarterback 2024; 2024: Spots in Kansas 8 Man Division II All State Honorable Mention; Wichita Eagle All Class 8 Man Division II Defensive Back 2024; All District 1st Team Special Team 2023; All District 2nd Team Team Defensive Back 2023; All District Honorable Quarterback 2023; Wichita Eagle Kansas 8 Man Division II All State Honorable Mention Runningback 2023.

His future plans are Financial Planning. Individual achievements include: Second CPL (DB), Sports in Kansas Top 100 Seniors Honorable Mention, Sports in Kansas All State Team Honorable Mention, Capital KSHSAA All 8 Player Division II Honorable Mention, Kansas Pre-Game Top 8 Seniors in 8 Man Division II. Other sports: Varsity letter winner in Basketball and Baseball.

#4 - Rhett Kats, Logan, has been selected for the Division II West Squad. He is a 2025 graduate of Logan High School. He is 6'4" tall, weighs 180 pounds. His positions are Quarterback, Cornerback and Punter. Coach is Mike Jenner. Parents are Michael and Shannon Kats.
Future plans are to attend Fort Hays State University to major in Animal Science.
Individual records and accomplishments include: 2023 All State Honorable Mention, 2024 8 Man Division II Defensive Player of the Year Runner-up, Kansas Pre-Game Top 8 Seniors 8 Man Division II Honorable Mention; Sports in Kansas All State 1st Team. #15 - Lucas Kirk, Bucklin, has been selected for the Division II West Squad. He is a 2025 graduate Bucklin High School. He is 6'0" tall, weighs 175 pounds. His positions are quarterback free safety, and punter.
His high school football coach was Trever Powell. Parents are Tyler and Lori Kirk. Future plans are to major in Finance at Fort Hays State University while running track there.

#24 - Ryland Kooiman, Central Christian High School, has been selected for the Division II West All Star Game. He is a 2025 graduate of Central Christian High School. He is 5'7" tall, weighs 165 pounds. His positions have been Defensive End and Tight End.
His coach is Matt Barnett. Parents are Bart and Erin Kooiman. Future plans are to attend Kansas State University for a degree in finance.
Individual accomplishments include: 2 time 1st team All HOPL League Runningback and Corner; 1st Team All District Runningback, 2 time 1st Team All District Cornerback, 1 time All State Runningback. They won the State Championship Individual and Team in 2022.
In other sports he won 4 Time All State Golf honors.
Academic or activity honors: Class President Freshman year.

#72 - Garrett Lanning, Fairfield, has been selected for the Division II West Squad. He is a 2025 graduate of Fairfield High School and plans to attend Pratt Community College, throw track, and get a degree in Ag Power.
His parents are Josh and Emily Lanning. Garrett is 5'9" tall and he weighs 230 pounds. His position was offensive line, guard and defensive tackle. Kyle Finder was his high school football coach.
Individual achievements include: Junior: District 1st Team DL, Honorable Mention OL, Senior Unanimous 1st Team OL & DL, 2nd Team Kicker, All State Honorable Mention and Top 100 Senior Honorable Mention.
In other sports: Junior year-2nd place league javelin, 3rd place league shot put, 4th place Regional Javelin State Qualifier.

#50 - Jeb Miller, Victoria, has been selected for the Division II West Squad. He is a 2025 graduate of Victoria High School and plans to go into Auto Body.
He is 6' tall and weighs 180 pounds. His positions are Offensive Line and Defensive Line.
His coach is Doug Oberle, his parents are Shawn and Shauna Chance. He plans to go into Auto Body.
Individual accomplishments are: CPL All League First Team Offensive Lineman, All State Honorable Mention Offensive Lineman.
Accomplishments in other sports include State Track Participant.

He is 5'10" tall, weighs 220 pounds. His positions are Offensive Line and Defensive Line. Matt Barnett was his high school coach.
Parents are Melvin and Molly Miller. He plans to attend Sterling College for a Business Management Degree and to throw in track and field.
Individual Achievements: All District 1st Team Offensive and Defensive Line.

#9 - Kyler Murphy, Norwich, has been selected for the Division II Squad. He is a 2025 graduate of Norwich High School.
He is 5'6" tall, weighs 155 pounds. His football positions in high school was quarterback and defensive back. Coach was Ross Foley. Parents are Justin and Jodi Murphy. He plans to attend Kansas State University and major in Agriculture Business.
Individual achievements include: Junior year: 1st Team All League Quarterback, Non-Senior Honorable Mention All State, Senior year: 2nd Team All League Quarterback and Defensive Back & All State Honorable Mention.
Academic or activity honors in school include: Received State Degree from FFA and is currently the vice-president. He is president of the Norwich National Honor Society.

#11 - Ryland Price, Dighton. He is a 2025 graduate of Dighton High School. He 5'7" tall and weighs 165 pounds. His positions are Runningback, Noseguard. His high school coach was Ken Simon. Parents are Rick and Courtney Price. His future plans are to come back to the family farm and ranch and trucking.
Individual achievements include: 2nd Team All State Runningback, All League 1st Team Defensive Line, All League 2nd Team Running Back. In other sports he made State in Track in Pole Vault and 4x100 and 4x400. He was the State Power Lifting champion.

His parents are Blaine and Norma Redburn, His future plans are to continue pursuing football in college. Achievements include selected All-District in Football.
