Arlis Gene Persinger, 68, of Hutchinson, Kansas, formerly of Belleville and Concordia, Kansas, passed away June 10, 2025, at his home surrounded by loved ones.
Arlis was born on January 31, 1957, in Superior, Nebraska, to Wesley Noah and Evelyn (Mahan) Persinger. He attended school in Superior, Nebraska, before enlisting into the Army. He had multiple jobs in his life but the latest one was at Shep Chevrolet in Haven, Kansas, for over 20 years. He was an avid Chevy guy. After retiring, he still worked doing details at Sheps until his diagnosis with cancer. He fought a long hard battle the past two years with lung cancer.
He was united in marriage to the late Pamela Sue Carlton and to this union two daughters were born, Crystal (Persinger Aaron) of Carbondale, Kansas, and Carla Blochlinger of Concordia, Kansas. Pamela and Arlis were later divorced. He then married Willeta Persinger on September 6, 1988, in Concordia Kansas. He has four stepchildren, Debbie (Nathan) Schofield of Maize, Kansas, Wesley Persinger of Hutchinson, Kansas, Nova Bates (Brad) of Logan, Kansas, and Loretta Ashland (Marco) of Concordia, Kansas; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Lyndal (Donald) Frybarger of Belleville, Kansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Corky, Lynn, Faylon and Larry; and his sister, Diane Howe.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 1pm at Union Valley Cemetery, rural Scandia, Kansas. Visitation with the family greeting friends will be Thursday, June 12, from 3pm to 5pm at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville.
