Mitchell County Conservation District – SOIL CONSERVATION TECHNICIAN

Mitchell County Conservation District is taking applications for a new position for SOIL CONSERVATION TECHNICIAN funded through the Kansas Department of Agriculture Division of Conservation

Full time position responsibilities include visiting landowners, evaluating field conditions and conservation best management practices, designing practices, overseeing construction, checkout, and related field and office duties.

Starting pay is $31,208 per year with an annual $4,800 health insurance incentive to be provided in lieu of health insurance. KPERS and leave time in accordance with federal guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED. Requirements include a background in conservation or agriculture (a two year degree with agriculture classes will substitute for background in conservation or agriculture), an ability to communicate effectively and work well with people, a valid Kansas state driver's license or ability to acquire one within 90 days of establishing residency, and a successful security background investigation clearance as required by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture.
