Marilyn Joerg, 68

On Wednesday, April 28th, Marilyn Kay Joerg peacefully passed away in Fairbury, Nebraska, at the age of 68. Marilyn, daughter of Walter and Marge (Pfeil) Manley, was born on April 4th, 1953 in Beatrice, Nebraska.
While growing up she enjoyed helping out on her parents' dairy farm, participating in 4-H, flying with her father, adventures with her brother, William "Bill" Manley, and spending a lot of family time camping. Marilyn graduated from Barneston High School in Barneston, Nebraska. She started her career in banking in Lincoln, Nebraska.
In 1980, Marilyn began work as a teller at First National Bank of Beloit in Beloit, Kansas. Over the years, her interest and dedication grew for banking. She became a Vice President and Compliance Officer while serving as a member of the Board of Directors. She retired from First National Bank of Beloit in 2014, after enjoying many years with her beloved co-workers.
In 1989, Marilyn married Warren Joerg of Randall, Kansas. Marilyn and Warren shared over 30 years within the Randall community. During this time Marilyn enjoyed attending all of their children's sporting and school events, volunteering within the community such as school and local 4-H events, traveling with family and friends, and watching her children start families of their own. Through Marilyn's passion for quilting, she traveled and developed life long friends with whom she shared many laughs and created lasting memories.
Warren passed away in 2016 after 27 years of marriage. Within the next few years, Marilyn relocated to Council Grove, Kansas. She was able to fulfill her dream of lake living while making memories quilting and spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Warren Joerg; father, Walter Manley; brother, Bill Manley; and many other precious family and friends.
Marilyn's beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her family: mother, Marge Manley of Fairbury, Nebraska; son, Curt (Amy) Staab of Hays, Kansas; daughter, Julie (Aron) Splichal of Berthoud, Colorado; daughter, Megan (Doug) Swink-Brown of Overland Park, Kansas; and daughter, Brittany (Casey) Flax of Cimarron, Kansas; seven grandchildren: Hannah Hildebrand, Addison and Caden Staab, Evan, Mireya, and Harlow Brown, and Paxton Flax; sister-in-law, Teri Manley of Littleton, Colorado; uncle, Robert (Kay) Pfeil of Clear Lake, South Dakota; aunt, Jackie Burke of Highmore, South Dakota; and a multitude of dear cousins, friends, previous co-workers, car show and quilting friends.
A public viewing is scheduled for 1:00 to 7:00 pm with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, May 3rd, at the Roberts Family Funeral Home, and private family-only funeral services will take place later.
Memorials may be given to the Randall Community Center.
