Arlan R. Campbell, 85

Arlan R. Campbell was born on June 24, 1936 in Concordia, Kansas, to Roy and Anna (Jansen) Campbell. He passed from this life on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas at the age of 85.
Arlan graduated from Concordia High School in 1954. He married Barbara Mae Kitterman on June 9, 1957 at Concordia, Kansas. To this union three children were born, Arlanda, Karen and Kevin.
He served in the Army National Guard for nine years and reaching the rank of Staff Sgt.
Arlan worked for Culbertson Electric out of high school, then for 2 years at the Leidigh Lumber Yard in Concordia. He owned and operated Campbell Electric from 1969-1984 until his retirement. He then was employed by Cloud County Community College within their maintenance department from 1984 to 1989.
He was a member of The Baptist Church, past Concordia Elks Lodge Member, HAM Radio Operator for over 70 years under the call sign W0NBT.
His hobbies included flying radio control airplanes, loved to fish, and was an avid woodworker. Most of all Arlan enjoyed getting together with his family.
Arlan is survived by his three children, Arlanda Murdock, Belleville, Kansas, and Karen Bombardier and husband Nick, Wichita, Kansas; son, Kevin Campbell and wife Sharon, Hays, Kansas; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Larry Campbell (Sherry), Huscher, Kansas; a brother-in-law, Bufford Kitterman, Del Rio, Texas; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, parents, great-granddaughter, Remi Brewer.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 PM with family greeting friends from 6 to 7 PM, Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday, January 28, 2022 at The Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Peppers officiating. Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.
