Marjorie Irene (Kenyon) Lundberg, 99

Marjorie Irene (Kenyon) Lundberg, age 99, entered into rest on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the Park Villa Nursing Home in Clyde, Kansas. Marjorie was born in Concordia, Kansas, on August 14th, 1922. Her parents were Edgar Leroy Kenyon and Dora Irene (Graham) Kenyon.
After one year of school in rural Cloud County at JT. 1 C&R, she attended school in Texas where the family moved in 1928. Marjorie returned to Concordia with her family in 1936. She completed her last two years of high school here, graduating in 1938. She lived in Portland, Oregon, from 1939 until 1946 at which time she took a job transfer to San Francisco, California, where she lived until 1969.
Marjorie met and married Larry Lundberg. They were married April 2nd, 1960 in Reno, Nevada, and lived in San Francisco. They then moved to Freemont, California, where they lived until she retired in 1986 from her job at the local hospital where she was an administrative assistant in the financial department. They then moved to Concordia, Kansas, and lived here over the next 30 years.
Marjorie worked at the Portland Army Air Base during WWII and after, transferred to the 6th Army Headquarters at the Presidio of San Francisco. After more than 14 years with the AAFES she moved on to other fields, mainly in the investment side.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Dora; her stepfather, Max French; her husband, Larry; as well as her infant sister, Patsy Joan, and brother, Orlin Leroy Kenyon; sister-in-law, Sadie (Ames) Kenyon; great nephew, David E. Jeardoe; great niece Jeannette Jeardoe; nephew, Gordon Kenyon; and nephew-in-law, Dennis Garst.
Marjorie is survived by her niece, Ora Lee (Kenyon) Jeardoe and husband Melvin, Viola (Kenyon) Garst, and niece-in-law JoAnne Kenyon, as well as great nephew Kade Garst, wife Nikki and their children Kaison and Kaia; great niece Kyle Dawn Garst; great-great nephew, Bryson A. Smith and his son Bryson III.
She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion, Frank Carlson Library, the Genealogy Club, Brown Grand Theatre, Red Hats, Christian Women, and card clubs.
Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6-7 pm.
A Graveside Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, June 24, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery (A.K.A. French Cemetery) with Pastor Bob Burns officiating.
