Mitchell County Commissioners – Monday, September 26, 2022

By Terry Bailey

The Mitchell County Commissioners conducted their weekly meeting at the Courthouse on Monday morning, September 26th. All Commissioners and the County Clerk were present for the meeting.
The Commissioners dealt with a somewhat abbreviated agenda. There were two items to consider but both were dealt with in executive session.
First off was Eric Hamel, Director of the Emergency Medical Services. Hamel requested a ten-minute executive session to discuss non-elected personnel. This was extended for an additional ten minutes. No decisions were made as a result of that closed session.
Next up was the appearance of Cortney Murrow, Mitchell County Health Official. She had WIC certificates for the Commissioners to sign authorizing Mitchell County to administer the WIC programs in Jewell and Ottawa Counties.
Murrow also announced that the Mitchell County Health Fair will be conducted from October 17th to October 21st on a "by appointment only" basis. Additionally, Murrow said the flu shots will be given on a "Walk in Wednesday" basis throughout the month of October.
Murrow was joined by Stephanie Simmons, Executive Director of the Mitchell County Health Foundation. They requested a fifteen-minute executive session. No decisions were made as a result of that closed session.
Having addressed all the items on the printed agenda, the meeting was adjourned.
