Margarette A. McReynolds, 69

Margarette Arlene McReynolds, 69, of Beloit, Kansas, peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022 surrounded by loved ones.
Margarette was born on December 13, 1952 to Delmar and Dorothy Sherwood in Colony, Kansas. After Margarette graduated from Iola High School in 1970, she earned a degree in Nursing at Pittsburg State University and continuing to a Master's of Nursing years later at Fort Hays University. Along with her Master's of Nursing she also pursued a degree in Christian Education from Baptist Bible College, Springfield, Missouri.
After graduation, she worked in nursing for over 36 years. Margarette had a deep passion for nursing. Margarette was also a pastor's wife for over 45 years and enjoyed teaching children's church, Sunday school, playing the piano and organizing church functions when called.
In 1973, she met Mark McReynolds at the Lake of the Ozarks during a Christian youth group activity. Mark and Margarette were wed on August 10, 1974 and went on to have three daughters, Rachel Starbuck, Sarai Golden, and Mary Weeks.
After 36 years of her nursing career, Margarette still enjoyed her lifelong career of teaching and serving within the church as well as being a positive mentor for her three daughters and spouses as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Margarette was preceded in death by her parents, Delmar and Dorothy Sherwood and brother Danny Sherwood. She is survived by her loving husband, Mark McReynolds; sisters, Barbara Sherwood and Thelma Hisel; children Rachel (Michael) Starbuck, Sarai (Daryl) Golden and Mary Weeks. Also survived by grandchildren, Breanna Golden, Samantha (Paul) Taylor, Brittani Golden, John (Katie) Starbuck, Austin (Noemi) Golden, Thaddaeus (Rachel) Starbuck, Timothy (Megan) Starbuck, Auhnna Golden, Stephen Starbuck, Braunson Golden, Deon Weeks, Hannah Starbuck and Jorja Weeks. Besides children and grandchildren, she is survived by seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Thursday, November 17, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Beloit.
Visitation will be from 1 PM to 6 PM Wednesday, November 16, at the Roberts Family Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Calvary Baptist Church Missions Fund.
