James “Jim” Long, 65

James Fredrick Long was born on April 11, 1957 in Norton, Kansas, the son of Francis "Sam" and Alvera Juenemann Long. He died on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas at the age of 65.
Jim and his family moved to Beloit, where he attended schools and graduated from St. John's High School and excelled in football and track.
On August 26, 1989, he was united in marriage with Denise Charbonneau and they resided in Downs. One son, Anthony, was born to this union.
Jim worked at the Farmway COOP and Midway COOP elevators for many years. Upon retiring, he helped his son Anthony on the farm.
In his spare time, he enjoyed deer hunting, and was a huge sports fan. His love for his family was immeasurable, and he loved spending time with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Alvera.
Jim is survived by his wife, Denise of the home; son, Anthony and his wife Brooke of Downs; three adored grandchildren, Vannon, Cullen, and Lindy; siblings, Diana McConnell of Oregon, Ed and his wife Lisa of Beloit, Arlene Alley of Delphos, Steve and his wife Beverly of Osborne, and John and his wife Jennifer of Oregon; many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 AM Friday, March 3, at the temporary St. John's Catholic Church (former Dollar General Building) in Beloit. A rosary service will be at 9:30 AM Friday at the same location.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Jim Long Memorial (to be used for his grandchildren's education).
