Alice Marie Tyler, 75

Alice Marie Tyler, 75 years of age, formerly of Hays, Kansas, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on December 11, 1947 in Phillipsburg, Kansas, to Harold and Alma (Loyd) Gray.
She was a 1965 graduate of Phillipsburg High School, Phillipsburg, Kansas. She went on to attend Wichita Business College, Wichita, Kansas, and Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Business. She later returned to earn her Master's degree in Special Education from Fort Hays State University.
Alice was united in marriage to James Tyler on January 5, 1973 in Phillipsburg, Kansas, at the Saint James Saint Phillips Catholic Church.
She was a Special Education Elementary Teacher in various communities including Montezuma, Kansas, Dodge City, Kansas, in Russell, Kansas, at the Bickerdyke Elementary School, USD #407. She also taught at Lakewood Middle School in Salina, Kansas.
Her hobbies included spending time with her family and friends, crafts, floral creations, spending time with her pets and reading.
Alice is survived by her husband, James Tyler, San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Trisa Gonzolas, San Antonio, Texas; son, Travis Tyler (Rachel), Poulsbo, Washington; Kristopher Tyler, San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren, Madeline Delling (James), Tyler Gonzolas (Miriam), Nicole Gonzolas, Elijah, Noah, A.J. and Shawn Tyler; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Amelia Delling; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Alma Gray; brothers, Arden Gray and Donald McQueen.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Melby Mortuary with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at the Melby Mortuary in Mankato, Kansas, with Pastor Jim Rice officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Mankato, Kansas.
