Cynthia E. Larson, 97

Cynthia Emma Larson, the daughter of Fredrik (Fred) E. Ames and Lula Viola Horkman Ames, was born August 23, 1925 in rural Rydal, Kansas, and passed away on March 18, 2023 at the Republic County Hospital at the age of 97 years, 6 months and 27 days.
Cynthia attended District 48 Grade School and graduated from Norway High School. She then attended St. Joseph School of Nursing in Concordia, Kansas, graduating as a Registered Nurse. She worked as a nurse in Concordia and later for the Republic County Health Department in Belleville.
On July 16, 1946 she was united in marriage to Glenn A. Larson and to this union was born, Lyle and Lori. The couple made their home in rural Norway, Kansas.
Cynthia was a member of the Kansas Nurses Association. She also was a member of the Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Norway, Kansas, where she was an active member in Church activities and ladies groups. Cynthia was an organist, playing in the area Scandia and Norway Churches for many years. She enjoyed her family and spending time with them.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lula Ames; her husband, Glenn A. Larson in 2010; brother, Charles Ames; sister, Sadie Kenyon and two half-sisters, Ella Loomis and Dorothy Jackson.
She is survived by her children, Lyle (Lisa) Larson of Osage Beach, Missouri, and Lori (Carl) Larson Peterson of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren, Lennae Rodriguez, Luke Larson, Orion Heath, and Ariel Rodriguez; eight great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Norway, Kansas, with Pastor Dennis Beckmann officiating.
Interment will be at the Norway Cemetery, Norway, Kansas.
The casket has been closed. Friends may call to register from 1 PM until 6 PM on Wednesday, March 22, at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas.
