Joseph "Joe" Ronald Pickett, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on May 15, 2023, after a courageous battle with terminal cancer. Born in Santa Rosa, California, on March 27, 1971, to Ronald and Carol Ann (Pennewell) Pickett, Joe was known for his optimism, friendly nature, and great sense of humor.
Joe attended Santa Rosa High School, where he developed lifelong friendships and a strong work ethic. Later in life, he began his career at Ray's Apple Market in Beloit, where he worked as a Night Manager and Price Coordinator. Joe's dedication and commitment to his job were evident to all who worked with him, and he was highly regarded by both his colleagues and customers.
In his personal life, Joe was devoted to his family, which included his wife, Kelly Williams; his sister, Lisa Cowen; his brother, Michael Pickett; his stepchildren, Doug and Ashley Rupert; numerous nieces, nephews, and two step-grandchildren. Joe's love for his family was unwavering, and he took great pride in their accomplishments.
Joe was also known for his strong bond with his good friend, Darrell Lapaille. The two shared many adventures and laughs over the years, and their friendship was a testament to Joe's loyalty and genuine character.
One of Joe's greatest passions was barbecuing, and he was often found manning the grill at family gatherings and neighborhood cookouts. His culinary skills were admired by all who had the pleasure of tasting his delicious creations. In addition to his love for cooking, Joe enjoyed working on puzzles, a hobby that brought him great satisfaction and relaxation.
Joe volunteered and began going to church at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church. Throughout his life, Joe maintained a positive outlook, even in the face of adversity. His optimistic spirit was contagious, and he had a unique ability to bring joy and laughter to any situation. Joe's friendly demeanor and quick wit endeared him to all who met him, and he will be remembered for the countless smiles and laughter he brought to those around him.
Joe's passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his memory will live on through the cherished moments and laughter shared. His legacy of love, kindness, and humor will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Joe will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, but his spirit will live on through the memories and stories shared by those who loved him.
