Matt Kuykendall, Weskan, has been selected to play on the Division II West Team in the 2011 8 Man All Star football game on Saturday, June 11 in Beloit. He is a 2011 graduate of Weskan High School. The Division I game will be held at 10 a.m. at Trojan Field on North Hersey Avenue in Beloit.
Football stats include: 2009: 4 rushing TD's, 3 passing TD's, 445 yds passing, 349 yds rushing, 97 total tackles, 3 interceptions; 2010: completing 51 of 117 passes for 634 yds.-7 TD's, 146 carries for 1,114 yds-13 TD's, 135 total tackles, 2 interceptions, 10 kickoff returns for 241 yds.
In other sports, Matt was selected to the WKLL All League team in basketball in 2009-2010; the 2009 Topside Tip-Off Basketball Tournament All Tournament Team. He placed 4th in power clean and 5th in squad in 08-09 1A Powerlifting.
Matt is a member of the church youth group, 4-H, and he attended Christian Youth Conferences, Northeastern Oklahoma Football Camp, Terry Coppacias All-Star Quarterbacks Camp.
Matt enjoys football, basketball, track, outdoors, music, hanging out with friends and attending football and basketball camps.
Activities and honors in school include receiving the Weskan High School Citizenship Award, WHS Leadership Award, Woodworking Excellence Award. He lettered in basketball, football and track all 4 years; was in the school play 2 years, NHS, band, choir, and was football and basketball captain 2 years.
His parents are Mike and Diane Kuykendall and he plans to attend Kansas State University.
