The Mitchell County Commissioners conducted their regular weekly business at the Courthouse Monday morning, November 25. All Commissioners and the County Clerk were present. Mike Reiman, Commissioner-elect, was also in attendance.
Emily Benedick, Mitchell County Economic Development Coordinator, was present to discuss the ROZ (Rural Opportunity Zone) match provision. Mitchell County has participated in this program for a number of years. The Commissioners voted to continue with economic support of the ROZ program.
A coin flip was necessary to determine the winner of a position in Carr Creek Township. Dick Wise and Phil Murrow both received six votes for the position. Murrow won the coin flip and was declared the winner.
The Commissioners voted to approve the abstract of votes in the November 5 election. This verifies that all votes have been counted and the process has been approved. The voting percentage for Mitchell County in the election was a satisfactory 74%.
The Commissioners approved the re-appointment of Brent Cunningham and Dr. Chris Marozas to another three-year term to the Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems Board of Directors.
The Commissioners approved the receipt of Community Development Block Grant funds in the amount of $111,916.64. The money will be disbursed to the individuals that successfully completed the grant request process.
The Commissioners adjourned to an executive session to discuss non-elected personnel. No decisions were made as a result of that closed session.
Having addressed all the items on the printed agenda, the meeting was adjourned.
