Lannis P. Bolte, age 90, entered into rest Saturday, January 11, 2024, at the Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems. He was born on January 8, 1935 to Henry and Anna (Wasia) Bolte. Lannis married Bonnie Cook on February 18, 1958 in Esbon, Kansas. To this union, four sons and four daughters were born: Norma, Laura, Phillip, Michael, Jane, Jim, Judy and Francis.
Lannis grew up on a farm with his family. He was known by most as "Red". He worked many different jobs in his lifetime. The most enjoyable one was his retirement hobby of antiquing and junking. Throughout the years, he met new people and developed many lifelong friendships.
Lannis is survived by his wife, Bonnie Bolte; children, Norma (Tom) Schwerman, Laura (Ron) Weber, Phillip Bolte, Michael (Becky) Bolte, Jane Jackson, Jim (Elisha) Bolte, Judy (Gerald) Sekavec and Francis Bolte; grandchildren, Rachel Fath, Ryan Schwerman, Lisa Colson, and Logan Schwerman, Gayle Donaldson, Lucas and Linsey Bolte, Jennifer Shelton, Kris Allen, and Marcus Bolte, Aaryn Jackson, Diedrick and Brandt Bolte, Jocelyn Ishler and Raelyn Bolte; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, all siblings, and daughter-in-law, Julie Bolte.
Funeral services will be at 1 PM Thursday, January 16, at the Roberts Family Funeral Home followed by burial in Wallace Cemetery near Jewell. Visitation will be 11 AM until service begins Thursday with the family receiving friends at that time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Jewell Community Center or Randall Community Center. Roberts Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
