Fontelle E. Fruit, 74

Fontelle E. Fruit, born on August 19, 1951, in San Diego, California, passed away on January 15, 2026, at Hilltop Lodge in Beloit, Kansas. She was a dedicated individual who spent many years enriching the lives of others through her work as a hostess and waitress. Fontelle touched the hearts of many with her warm smile and genuine kindness.

Fontelle moved from California to the Midwest, where she embraced her new community with open arms, and attended Beloit High School. Her personality shone brightly, characterized by her deep love for all animals, particularly her beloved cats. Fontelle held a firm belief in animal rights, an advocacy that led her to make numerous contributions to organizations dedicated to helping animals in need.

Beyond her compassion for animals, Fontelle was known for her adventurous spirit and enjoyed riding motorcycles, an activity that brought her joy and freedom throughout her life.

Fontelle is survived by her two sons, John Rhudolph, Jr. and Lelas Macon III, along with her brothers, Richard Golden, Jr. and George Golden. She is also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews who cherished her presence in their lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Golden, Sr. and Josephine Martin Golden; her husband, Richard Fruit, whom she married on April 4, 2005; and her sister, Marlene Kohler. The memories of Fontelle will remain alive in the hearts of those who loved her.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Friday, January 23 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-5 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Solomon Valley Hospice or the Pet Connection.
