Shirley Ann Crane, the daughter of Delbert and Carrie (Wyatt) Rothchild, was born on June 20, 1939 in Webber, Kansas. She passed away on May 24, 2026 at the Good Samaritan Society at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 86 years, 11 months, 4 days.
Shirley attended Lovewell school and was a 1957 graduate of Lovewell High School. She was united in marriage to Marvin Crane in September of 1963, in Denver, Colorado.
Shirley attended Living Faith Fellowship Church in Superior, and was baptized in the Church of Christ by Pastor Jim Stark.
Shirley enjoyed spending time with family the most. Many weekends were spent at her parent's farm, along with her siblings and their families. They all got together for a full house on holidays, with lots of good food and laughter. She loved a good joke and pranks were common between her and her siblings at every age.
She enjoyed playing bingo and cards. Often the family would get together for games of pitch or dice. She and a group of friends also had regular card nights, exchanging prizes and laughs. Shirley worked in the kitchen at Good Samaritan Society of nearly 30 years until her retirement.
Shirley sold Avon for many years, earning some sales awards along the way. Her daughter Deanna joined her in the business and they kept busy and made many friends along the way. The grandkids often helped by delivering books and orders.
Shirley adored her grandchildren and they adored her, spending time and overnights at her house. When her great grandchildren came along, they brought her much joy and happiness. In her later years, as her health and memory started to fade, she still had her ornery side, enjoying a good laugh and loved talking about the good old days. She entered the Superior Good Samaritan Society in May of 2022, where she resided until her passing.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband Marvin in 1986; her son Michael and her daughter Deanna Bailey; her brother Dennis Rothchild and sisters-in-law Cheryl, Phyllis and Janice Rothchild.
Survivors include her daughters Kathy Avis of Red Cloud, and Trudi Bjork of Brainerd, MN; five grandchildren Alex (Elizabeth) Bailey of Lincoln, James Bailey of Superior, Lindsay Gomez of Red Cloud, Andrew Kim of St. Cloud, MN, and Alanna Kim of Brainerd, MN; six great grandchildren; siblings Delmer (Glenda) Rothchild of Downs, KS, Daryle (Kathy) Rothchild of Monett, MO, Doyle Rothchild of Mankato, KS, Jana (Art) Stokes of Columbus, NE and Marlin Rothchild of Nelson, NE; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
