Wendy Lynn Charbonneau, 54

Wendy Lynn Charbonneau, 54, of Salina, Kansas passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026. She was born in Concordia, Kansas to Gary and Lyndell (Cart) Charbonneau.

Wendy graduated from high school in Chapel Hill, Tennessee in 1989. She went on to attend Middle Tennessee University. She spent the majority of her working life as a travel agent for American Express, but enjoyed a variety of occupations including working as a bartender, and owning her own restaurant in Superior, Nebraska.

Her three children, Zoe, Maximus, and Rion were the lights of her life. She was a very involved mother and was always there for her children, which included any non-related children that happened to be at her house.

She also enjoyed watching all kinds of movies and shows, especially Dune and Vikings. She loved painting houses, creating mosaics, and caring for her little "plant babies." She found joy in her newfound love of Facebook animal reels, floating in the lazy river, and soaking up the sun. She spent time reflecting on the endless possibilities of life and took great pride in creating a warm, welcoming space for anyone who walked through her doors. She had a unique eye for decorating, expressing her artistic spirit in every corner of her home. She cherished painting pottery with family and friends at On The Pot and gave everything she had to make others smile and feel safe. Most of all, she loved smiling, laughing, and spending time with her family. She carried an audacious spirit, a bright light, and a quick wit, and she loved and cared deeply for everyone she met.

Wendy is survived by her children, Zoe Rincon-Charbonneau (Zachary Stanton) of Salina, KS, Maximus Rincon-Charbonneau (Ashley) of Barton Mills and future granddaughter, Amira Lynn Rincon-Charbonneau United Kingdom, and Rion Barry (Lucas Vrazel) of Salina, KS; parents, Gary and Lyndell Charbonneau; and brother, Rusty Charbonneau (Dinorah).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Rincon, grandparents, Norman and Nila Mae Charbonneau, and Don and Allyne Cart, uncle, Rod Cart, and cousins Scott Cart and Dee Strait Brown.

A prayer service and celebration of life will be held at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home on Thursday, June 4, 2026, with Father Joseph Kieffer leading the prayer service and Max Rincon-Charbonneau leading the celebration. Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses in care of Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, P.O. Box 606, Concordia, KS 66901.
