Steven Gaylord McIntyre, 84

Steven Gaylord McIntyre, age 84, passed away Saturday June 20, 2026 at the Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems Resident Care Center, Beloit, KS. He was born on November 29, 1941 at the family home to Keith G. and Daisibel I. McIntyre. He attended schools in Jewell, KS and upon graduating from high school he enlisted in the United States Navy. After completing his military service, Steven returned home and enrolled at Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS where he earned a degree in Agronomy. Steven began his professional career with the DeKalb Seed Company, Ulysses, KS. It was there that he met Karen Prince, the love of his life. They were married on October 31, 1970 and together built a life centered on family, friends, and hard work. In 1972 Steven, Karen, and their two children, Kimberly and Alan, moved to Randall, KS where Steven began farming and ranching alongside his father. A dedicated farmer and rancher, Steven spent more than five decades raising crops and cattle on the land he loved. He remained actively involved in both farming and ranching until retiring following the fall harvest of 2024. He was proud of both callings and the life they provided for his family.

Steven will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many people whose lives he touched throughout the years.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen McIntyre, and his parents.

He is survived by his sister, Marsha Slate; his brother Gene (Cheryl) McIntyre; his daughter Kimberly (Rick) Holloway; is son Alan (Christine) McIntyre, and many cherished grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Steven's legacy lives through the family he loved, the land he cared for, and the countless memories shared by those who knew him.

Visitation will be Monday June 22, 2026 from 5pm - 7pm at Kleppinger Funeral Home, Jewell, KS.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday June 23, 2026 at 10:30am at the Jewell Community Center, Jewell, KS with Pastor Dan Daniels officiating.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials are suggested to Solomon Valley Hospice or the Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems Resident Care Center.
