Mary Louise Earl, 100, of Houston, TX passed away on July 4, 2026 at Heart to Heart, Hospice House in Houston, TX. Mary Lou was born on May 1, 1926 in Hutchinson, KS to Albert F. Tracy and Catherine (Yuhler) Tracy. She was raised by her grandmother, Lucy Tracy upon the death of her mother when she was fourteen months old.
Mary Lou graduated from Buhler, KS High School in 1944. She married Franklin Lake and to this union two daughters, Yvonne Sue and Sandra Louise were born. In 1953 she married Omar Earl and to this union a son, Reginald Malcolm was born. The family moved to Columbus, NE where they raised their family. She worked as a book keeper at Dale Electronics.
The couple later moved to Superior, NE where she owned and operated a Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio. After Omar's retirement they moved to Houston, TX where she resided until her death.
Mary Lou will be remembered as a strong, independent woman with a steadfast faith. She enjoyed baking, reading and her plants. She had a talent for painting ceramics and sharing them as gifts. Her goals were to live to be 100 and to stay in her home with her cat Blue. She was truly blessed to accomplish both.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Catherine Tracy, her stepmother, Christine Tracy, sister, Billie Jean Hicks, half-sister Tappy, and husband Omar. She is survived by her children, Yvonne (John) Gamble, Houston, TX, Sandra (Wayne) Muirhead, Gordon, NE, Reginald Earl, Cleburne, TX; her grandchildren Tracy Vaccaro, Scott Gamble, Mark Muirhead, Michelle Muirhead, Minda Owen, Dusty Earl; 16 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; and cousin Irene Kleiber, Hutchinson, KS.
