Lois Beth Lowell (Schmidt), a beloved 93-year-old resident of Belleville, Kansas, peacefully passed away on July 16th at Republic County Hospital.
Born on July 22, 1932, in Courtland, Kansas, Beth was the youngest of three daughters to Pearl Russell Lowell and Thelma Beatrice Morfoot. She graduated from Belleville High School in 1950, where she shone brightly as a cheerleader, member of the National Thespian Society, and drummer in the school band. Known affectionately as "our girl Beth" in Belleville, she was renowned for her radiant personality and striking appearance, which earned her the prestigious title of "Miss Perfect 36" in the statewide beauty contest of 1952.
During her time at Kansas University, Beth met her future husband, Richard Edward (Dick) Schmidt. Their love blossomed, leading to their marriage on December 30, 1953. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Cheryl, Linda, and Douglas. Throughout their lives, Beth and Dick resided in various beautiful places across the United States, including California, Ohio, Texas, Illinois, Florida, New Hampshire, and Nevada. These moves were driven by Dick's successful business career and their shared desire for a fulfilling retirement.
