Biographical Data:
On September 1, 1961, Ralph married the love of his life, Maureen Schlueter, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Byron, Nebraska. Their marriage was blessed with two children, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and farming. Ralph proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He was inducted on August 15, 1960, called to active duty on October 15, 1961, and served during the Berlin Wall era before receiving an honorable discharge on August 14, 1963. After returning home, Ralph and Maureen made their home near Courtland, Kansas, where they farmed and raised their family. In addition to farming, Ralph enjoyed trap shooting and treasured time spent with family and friends. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Ralph was known for his quiet strength, steadfast work ethic, and genuine love for his family. He especially enjoyed attending family gatherings and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. As his health declined, Ralph became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in Superior, Nebraska, where he received compassionate care until his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorman and Bula Clark; his sister, Juanita Clark Laughlin; his brother, Ray Clark; and his infant brother, Harry Clark. Survivors include his beloved wife of nearly 65 years, Maureen Clark; his son, Kirk (Brenda) Clark of Stow, Massachusetts; his daughter, Shelia (Ted) Smith of Lawrence, Kansas; his grandchildren, Nicole (Ben) Dugan, Emily (Dave) Beam, Sydney Smith, and Samantha Smith; his great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kate, and Nora; his sister, Winnie (Robert) Sayre of El Cerrito, California; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will cherish his memory. Ralph's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and love for his family. His memory will be treasured by all who knew him.
