Gloria Dianne (Wiegert) Wilson, 81, died at her daughter's home in Marquette, Kansas on August 6, 2026. She had recently been admitted into Gentiva Hospice care. She was born on March 28, 1945 in Kansas City, Kansas and was adopted along with her sister at an early age by Walter Wiegert and Erna (Schwerdtfeger) Wiegert where she was raised in Lincoln, Kansas.
She was baptized along with her sister on 1/30/1949. Confirmed 1/22/1959 at St. John Lutheran, Lincoln, KS Gloria attended St. John Lutheran school through the 8th grade. She was a majorette during high school as a baton-twirling performer marching with the band. She would show off her skills to her children later in life. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1963.
Gloria married Robert Lee Wilson on August 25, 1963 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Kansas, a loving union which lasted for over 55 years before he preceded her in death on her birthday March 28, 2019. They were blessed with four children: Christine Elizabeth, Barbara Ellen, Timothy Robert, and Rebecca Lynn.
Gloria and Robert raised their family in Glasco and Beloit, KS. Later moving to Marquette, KS. After Robert's passing in 2019 Gloria moved to Bethany Village independent living cottages in Lindsborg, KS where she resided until her last few days where she entered Gentiva Hospice care along with her family and died peacefully surrounded by family at her daughter's residence in Marquette, KS.
Gloria and Robert enjoyed family vacations and traveling. She provided day care for many families over the years; cleaned Robert's Barbershops in both Glasco and Beloit; cleaned several churches in Glasco; and worked as part of the Nicol Home kitchen staff for several years.
She served on the Lutheran Ladies Aide at St. Paul's Lutheran Glasco and later at Zion Lutheran in Beloit, She was very proud of her Lutheran heritage and together with Robert instilled great Christian values in their children. She shared her love for Jesus with everyone she knew. Her greatest wish was to have all of her family be together in Heaven one day.
Gloria was extremely proud of all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren always doting on their accolades and accomplishments and was more than happy to share them with everyone. She had a very giving heart and was a long time benefactor of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She also donated to Tunnel to Towers, The Fellowship of Christians and Jews, Kids Wish Network, and several others benefiting children, faith and freedom.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Erna Wiegert, grandparents Herman and Lena (Tatkenhorst) Wiegert, Albert and Lydia (Choitz) Schwerdtfeger; husband Robert Wilson; sister Kathleen Rogers Hendrix; grandson Zebulun O'Loughlin; son-in-law Paul Gerlach; grandson-in-law Saul Reza; nephews Chris Wilson, Brian Paulsen, and Terry Rogers.
She is survived by daughters: Christine O'Loughlin (Greg) of Hugoton, KS, Barbara O'Loughlin of Marquette, KS, Rebecca Pflughoeft (Jordan) of McPherson, KS, and son Timothy Wilson (Susie) of Beloit, KS.
Grandchildren: Courtney Reza (Beto) of Rolla, KS, Nicholas O'Loughlin of Denver, CO, Benjamin O'Loughlin (Jessica) Colorado Springs, CO, Maddison Venables (Hunter) Princeton, TX, Audrey and Owen Pflughoeft of McPherson, KS; seven great grandchildren: Vanessa Reza Lawrence, KS, Andrea Reza Wichita, KS, Elena Reza Rolla, KS, Olivia and Saul Xavier Reza Rolla, KS, Lakeyn and Ezra O'Loughlin of Colorado Springs, CO.
Numerous brothers and sisters-in-law: Ellen Paulsen of Lawrence, KS, Charles Wilson (Marilyn) of Glasco, KS, Ann Beeton (Ray) of Cleveland, MO, Leon Wilson (Karen) of Concordia, KS, Dawn Morse (Eddie) of Glasco, KS, Gary Rogers of Victoria, KS. Numerous nieces and nephews: Ricky, Diane, Jalen, Bonnie, Valerie, Brice, Cindy, Shannon, Shawn, Crystal, Erin; and all of their spouses, children and families.
The most Godly woman that we will ever know has entered the Church Triumphant. She lived her life with so much love for others. She gave freely to others and found great joy in it. Our lives will never be the same without her here. Thank you all for your continued prayers and support for the family during this difficult time. It gives us great comfort to know that she had prepared her entire life for this journey. We join you in the belief and hope of the Resurrection and look forward to seeing her again together with Our Father in Heaven.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Tuesday, August 11 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Beloit followed by burial at the Glasco Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-7 PM, with family present from 5-6 PM, Monday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home.
