Geneva Doris Jeardoe, the daughter of Charley and (Hattie) Pearl (Frint) Kasl was born January 22, 1924. Geneva lived her whole life in Republic County, Kansas until she moved to the Parkview Haven Nursing Home in Deshler, NE.
She passed away August 4, 2026, in Deshler at the age of 102 years, 6 months, & 14 days.
She completed 8th grade at Grant School at the bottom of Settler's Hill south of Belleville.
She held many hats in her life in and around Belleville: nursemaid, clerk at Seaman's Antiques, Baker at Belleville Bakery, professional wallpaper hanger, cook at the grade school lunchroom and the Kravemore 36, Scout den mother, campfire girl's leader, cleaned Dr's offices and Scott Specialties after hours. She played guitar and sang with her sister for country school programs.
She was united in marriage to Alva C. Jeardoe on August 17, 1943, until his death in 1985. To this union 3 children were born, Delmar, Leonard, and Carla.
Preceded in death were parents, Charley Kasl 1960, Pearl Kasl 1982, Sister Dorothy Kasl 1977, Children, Delmar Jeardoe 2002, Leonard Jeardoe 2023, Carla Jeardoe 2026. Daughter-in-law Yoshiko Jeardoe 2000, Great grandson Colton Carver 2016.
She is survived by daughter-in-law Deanna Jeardoe, 4 grandchildren: Richard (Andie) Carver, Cindy Hewitt, Kristi Wiemers & Patrick (Dawn) Jeardoe, 8 great-grandchildren, 13 plus 1 on the way great-great-grandchildren, sister Dora Faye Jeardoe along with nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services for Geneva and her daughter Carla will be held Friday, August 14th at 10:00am at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home with celebrant Waylon Sheetz, officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Cemetery rural Talmo, KS.
Viewing/Visitation will be held Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home from 1:00-6:00pm. The family will not be present.
Memorials are suggested to Aseracare Hospice.
