Nancy Lee Streit was born April 23, 1943, in Wichita, Kansas, to Eldon and Cleta Mae (Neiberger) Dalrymple. She passed away August 7, 2026, at Osborne County Memorial Hospital, Osborne, Kansas.
Nancy grew up on a farm nine miles southwest of Jewell, Kansas, and graduated from Jewell Rural High School in 1961.
On July 6, 1962, Nancy married Dennis L. Versch. Four daughters were born to this union. They later divorced.
Nancy enjoyed a variety of careers throughout her life. She worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell, provided daycare for many children, taught preschool, worked as a registered nurse, owned and operated restaurants, and served as a substitute teacher. Through each of these roles, she touched the lives of many people.
Nancy's Catholic faith was central to her life. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and St. Ann's Altar Society.
On December 23, 1986, Nancy married Walt Streit. Together, they welcomed two stepchildren into their family.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Pat Vossman, Susan Goreham, and Peggy Ann Dalrymple.
She is survived by her husband, Walt; her children, Cathy McKinley, Deidra Morgan (James), Lisa Cady (Tad), Mandy Simon (Kenny), Lori Smith, and Seth Streit (Erin); 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her brother, Ralph Jerry Dalrymple (Debra); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 20 from 5 - 7 p.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Tipton, Kansas with Rosary services to begin at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with Father Luke Thielen as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery in Tipton.
