Barbara Parks, Age 47

Barbara A. Parks, age 47, died Tues., May 12, 2015 at her home in Concordia. She was born on June 6, 1967 in Salina, KS to LaVerne & Betty Ann (Frybarger) Parks.

Barbara graduated from Concordia High School in 1986. She worked in housekeeping and was a nurse's aide for Sunset Nursing Home. Barbara loved to spend time with the people at Pawnee and enjoyed attending activities and field trips. She was dedicated to her family and enjoyed knitting and reading. She was an outgoing personality that loved to make friends.

She is survived by her sons, Jeffery Heller, Salina & Robert Hale; daughter, Kelly Heller, Salina; 1 grandson; father, LaVerne Parks, Sr., Concordia; brothers, LaVerne, Jr. (Nancy) Parks, Hutchinson & Leroy (Peggy) Parks, Concordia; sister, Beverly Parks, Concordia; step brother, Brian Myers, FL; step sisters, Cindy Myers, Shawnee Mission; & Terrie Myers, Concordia; half-sisters, Wanda Harlow, Overland Park & Melinda Boyles, Excelsior Springs, MO; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother & step-father, Betty & Jimmy Myers & a brother, Leonard Parks.

The family selected cremation and Memorial services will be at 10:30 am, Mon., May 18, 2015 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Frazier officiating. Burial of the cremains will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Friends may sign the book from 12-8 pm with the family greeting from 2-4 pm, Sun., May 17, 2015 at the funeral home.
